Courage Classic

S and I (and the kids for part of the second day) will be riding the Courage Classic in July, a 3-day bike tour through some of the high passes of Colorado. Something like 157 miles and 11,000 vertical feet via pedal power. Why would we do this? Well, we like to ride bikes. But also the ride is a huge fund raiser for Children's Hospital. If you're looking for a good cause to help out, they don't get much better than this one.

The route:
Me riding a portion of the route (Tennessee Pass) back in 2005.

So if you haven't spent that "stimulus" check yet or your just looking to support a good cause or you feel inclined to support my good cause go here.

Special Offer! If I've taken any picture of you or put you in any video, let me know and make any donation of any amount and I'll make sure you get a shiny glossy print of any size of your picture or a full-size version of your video. Cheers.

long weekends are a good thing

We spent the long weekend in Vail, dodging cranes and otherwise entertaining ourselves.

It was snowing off and on, but they've still managed to get the flowers to grow:

Just a couple of new pictures from a before-work ride yesterday:

Flowers have sprung:

Not exactly what I was after, but I like this one ok:

Spring Skiing

Motivation can be a little hard to find sometimes for the spring skiing days and the 4:45 am wake-up was feeling a little early, but it always seems worth it in the end:

Now wait a minute, Mr. Socks Fox!

Seeing a fox in Fort Collins is not exactly a rare thing. But we thought it was a treat, nonetheless, last weekend to get to see some fox babies frolicking around and doing their baby-fox-thing.

What month is it?

Been having a lot of fun at night meetings this week, so I decided to throw a few weights on the "life" side of the life-work scale to balance out a bit and went skiing with Bob Thursday bright and early.

Snow, clouds and positively no visibility from the top.

Felt more like December than May:

This tree knows which way the wind blows:

The snow seemed more like December, too, so I'm not complaining (Bob skis):

where did he learn that?

I'm not sure who taught this kid to skateboard, but apparently somebody did. :)

we need change

My level of optimism for the future of the world bounces around like a ping-pong ball. But here's a little video that made me smile. The message is good, and as a bonus it's pretty funny, too.
